Our charity concert this year is being held at Padiham Town Hall in aid of the Mayor’s chosen charity.
The performers, are students from Janet MusicSchool based in Burnley and a few guest performers. We have a selection of pieces, ranging from some well known classics to Jazz pieces. The performers are a mix of piano/ keyboard, and our guests include two pianists a singer and a harpist.
We have been organising Concerts for charity since 1992 and have raised so far £24,233.71. I have been a music teacher for 49 years and have worked as a peripatetic teacher at Sunnybank Prep School, Devereux Prep School and St Christopher’s High School. I am based at my home address in Burnley where I have a Music Studio.
John Westmoreland - Contempo Choir
2024 marks our 10th anniversary. Formed by Yvonne Roberts. Our musical director is Amy Tattersall. We practice at Sion Baptist Church Hall every Thursday evening. We do 2 charity concerts every year, summer and Christmas. We also do a few special concerts outside our 2 regular annual ones. We are looking forward to singing at Padiham Town Hall at the Festival Weekend.

Suco Samba
Burnley-based drumming group Suco Samba was established in 2016 with the primary aim of helping to improve physical and mental wellbeing through drumming and performance.
Drumming for Wellbeing
Drumming can:
- Relieve depression
- Reduce social isolation
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Burn calories
- Increase energy
- Improve circulation
- Boost cardio and much more....
We welcome in new participants throughout the year to learn to play drums in a fun, relaxed and friendly environment. Regardless of whether you've played drums for years or never picked up an instrument, everyone is welcome! (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult). No previous experience is necessary and we'll provide all the drumming equipment and ear protection.
